A Full and Abundant Life

A Full and Abundant Life

Many years ago, I was young and single and uncertain about what the future held for me. I loved God deeply and knew that I had only one life to live. I had seen God’s deliverance and received answers in my life by way of The Way Ministry, and I wanted to give back to God by living a life of service to Him. Serving in The Way Corps was a growing desire of my heart. I knew it was a lifetime commitment, which is a long time. I also knew I wanted to get married and have a family, and I wasn’t sure how all this would work out. A section of Scripture that inspired me as I was making decisions for my life was I Kings 3:3-14. I realized that I did not need to know all the details of how things would work out, except one—that as I kept God first in my heart, my need would be met and my life would be abundant.

In I Kings 3:3 we see that “Solomon loved the Lord, walking in the statutes of David his father….” Solomon asked God for an understanding heart to judge God’s people. God responded as follows.

I Kings 3:11-14:
And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment;

Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.
And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.

I was blessed to see Solomon’s love for God and his desire to grow in spiritual understanding in his service to God. These things were more important to him than gaining the riches of this world. As a result, God blessed his life very abundantly in the physical realm too. Several other scriptures established this for me.

Psalms 1:2,3:
But his
[the man’s] delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Matthew 6:33:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Ephesians 3:20:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.

These are some of the scriptures that helped convince me that a life of service to God would be full and abundant. As I look back over the past thirty-five years, that’s exactly what happened and continues to happen.

As I serve, I have seen growth in my spiritual understanding year after year in leading God’s people. I have had the privilege to develop my teaching ability with believing to inspire others to live the Word more dynamically. I have also had the joy of winning people to the Word and helping others do the same. And I have become more proficient at operating the nine manifestations of holy spirit.

In my personal life, I was patient and the right man for me came into my life, and I have had the blessing of being a wife as well as a mother to three wonderful children. We always seem to be with people that we can teach and also learn from by what they teach and their examples.

Our ministry responsibilities have been just right for me in many ways. I worked on Staff at The Way International Headquarters and learned a skill that later opened the door for me to work from home, when our children were still young. Another time we were only one hour away from my husband’s parents, so our children got to easily spend time with their grandparents.

Financially, we have seen God abundantly bless our service businesses that we started whenever we took on a new responsibility. We have not been without. Life has had its challenges at times, but our determination to believe together brought deliverance in each situation.

These are only a few of the many, many blessings that have come my way. I am so thankful I chose to serve God. My life is full and rich and rewarding.
